Dr. B.J. Stanbery is the Founder and Chairman of this Company. He completed his B.S. in Physics and Maths from the University of Texas and went on to complete his M.S. in Physics from Washington University. During his career of 17 years with Boeing his team manufactured and commissioned solar pv for variety of spacecrafts. In 1990 he and his team achieved a record efficiency for multi-junction thin-film solar pv systems.

The year 2001 marked the beginning of the journey of this Company. The basic motto of the company is to develop and commercialize the proprietary and patented FASST Process of applying CIGS Photovoltaic to various construction materials.

But what makes the FASST process unique?

Conventional Methods of Semiconductor processing require vacuum in order to deposit a thin film of semiconductor on the substrate. The vacuum based procedure makes it a time consuming Batch process for the production of thin-film cells or solar panels. Heliovolt has developed a nano-material based coating that can be simply sprayed, yes my friend “sprayed” on a wide variety of substrates, thereby eliminating the need of the vacuum based process.

By removing the bottleneck of vacuum based processing the organization has surely offered a powerful combination of process simplicity, faster manufacturing and most importantly lower costs.

This Organization produces thin-film solar cells for that have an efficiency of 14% and their solar modules have achieved an efficiency of 12% both of which are certified by NREL.
